Menthol rises on demand pick-up

NEW DELHI: Menthol prices rose by Rs 10 per kg in the national capital today on pick-up in demand from pharma and other consuming units.

Tight stocks following fall in supplies from producing regions and firming trend in futures market also supported the upside in prices.

Menthol bold crystal, menthol flake and mentha oil prices rose by Rs 10 each to Rs 1,670, Rs 1,495 and Rs 1,340 per kg, respectively.

Marketmen said increased demand from pharma and other consuming industries against tight supplies from producing belts mainly supported the rise.
