Q
how to dye cashmere
I'm a seasoned industrial engineer with a keen interest in machine learning. Here to share insights on latest industry trends.
Dyeing cashmere requires care to retain its softness and color. Start by choosing acid dyes for best results since they're gentle. Pre-soak the cashmere in warm water. Mix the dye in a separate container according to the manufacturer's instructions, typically involving hot water and acid, like vinegar. Transfer the pre-soaked cashmere into the dye bath and maintain a temperature just below simmering for even dyeing, usually for about 30-60 minutes, stirring gently. Avoid boiling, as high temperatures can damage the fibers. Once dyed, rinse the cashmere in lukewarm water until the water runs clear, then gently squeeze out excess water without wringing. Lay flat to dry, reshaping as necessary. Because of its delicate nature, always perform a test on a small area or a similar material first.
