The diversity in molecular structure allows for a broad range of applications, from clothing and household goods to medical devices and engineering materials.
The term "coated" isn't typically used in the context of describing metamorphic rocks, but we can interpret this as referring to whether they have a surface layer or coating that differs from their main composition. Metamorphic rocks do not naturally form with coatings in the way sedimentary rocks might acquire cementation. Therefore, while metamorphic rocks don't form with coatings per se, changes in mineralogy and surface alterations due to weathering can result in superficial modifications.
