After 65 years and seven months, on May 11, Suzuki announced that it has sold more than 250,000 K-CARs since the inception of the brand. Although this is not a big number, sales of a single Toyota Corolla model have reached 44 million vehicles. However, the Corolla is a well-known global model, and the main stage of those compact K-CAR mainly revolves around the local and sub-East Asian markets. Therefore, Suzuki's statistics are still amazing.
As an expert in the field of K-CAR, everything started with Suzuki Suzulight, who was born in October 1955. This is the first K-CAR in Japanese history and Suzuki's first involvement in automobile production. For more about the history and development of K-CAR, please refer to this article.
Those ubiquitous Carry cards have contributed significantly to total sales, with a total of 4.67 million units sold since its birth in 1961. Sales of Miniature Every, a derivative model using the same platform, reached 3.25 million units.
The Suzuki Fronte, launched in 1962, was once a very popular model. After seven generations, it was discontinued in 1989, and this name has also entered history. The sales data it brought to Suzuki was 1.59 million units.
In April 1970, Jimni, one of the world's most popular small off-road vehicles, was officially born. As a special model and excellent performance K-CAR, it has also gained a large number of fans of its own.
The model that really made Suzuki a success is also very familiar to our people, and that is Alto. In early 1979, Alto's pricing was 470,000 yen, which was a very competitive price at the time. Suzuki initially estimated that it would sell around 5000 vehicles a month, but in fact it could sell as much as 18000 vehicles a month during the hot season. Later generations expanded to add turbines and four-wheel drive front-end positions, further creating the era of performance K-CAR. The total sales of the Suzuki ace reached 5.24 million units.
In Suzuki's history, second only to Alto in popularity is WagonR/Big Dipper, with a total of 4.81 million units sold. The highlight of this car is that it has changed the design concept of K-CAR and created a precedent for a small body and a large space.
Finally, it is worth mentioning that Suzuki Spacia, which has sold 1.01 million units, first launched on the market in 2013 and has sold one million units in just eight years. This shows that its practicality and convenience are still very recognized.
Suzuki may not be as impressive as other Japanese manufacturers, but the various K-CARs it manufactures have made a lot of contributions to the development of Japan's automobile industry. Annual sales also exceed Subaru, Mazda and Mitsubishi. K-CAR is an indispensable part of Japan's automobile industry, and I believe there will be greater demand in the market in the future. Later, we asked us to calculate that if we parked 25 million Suzuki K-CAR headsets together, the total length would circle the earth 2.1 times...
