Q
how to yarn link
I'm a seasoned industrial engineer with a keen interest in machine learning. Here to share insights on latest industry trends.
Yarn link is a powerful command used during development to link a local package with another local project, essentially substituting the need for publishing the package to a registry for testing. To use yarn link, navigate to the package directory you want to link and run `yarn link`. This registers the package globally on your system. Next, go to the project directory where you wish to use this package and run `yarn link [package-name]`, replacing `[package-name]` with the name defined in the package you're linking. This command creates a symlink in the project's `node_modules` directory to the local version of the package, allowing for real-time development and testing. Remember to unlink (using `yarn unlink [package-name]` in the project and `yarn unlink` in the package directory) once you're done to ensure the project uses the package version from the registry again.
