The understanding of SUVs for Chinese people is that they are an off-road vehicle with large space and can run and climb. However, SUVs are divided into urban off-road and hard-core off-road. Therefore, there are often many consumer groups who do not have this concept. Over the years, Volkswagen has been favored by national consumers for its excellent and dignified design, solid chassis technology, strength, durability and high safety. Volkswagen Tanyue, a medium-sized flagship SUV, is a product of the Volkswagen MQB platform, and plays on the same platform as Audi and Skoda.
In terms of power, they are a 1.4L turbocharged engine and a high and low power version of a 2.0L turbocharged engine. These three engines are all matched with a 7-speed dual clutch gearbox. The dual clutch gearbox has a fast shifting speed and high transmission efficiency. Among them, the 1.4T has a maximum power of 110Kw and a peak torque of 250Nm, which produces 150 horsepower. While the 2.0T model is a high-power and low-power engine with a maximum power of 162Kw, a maximum torque of 350Nm, and a maximum horsepower of 220. The transmission system is equipped with 7 wet clutch gearboxes, and the power model also has four systems. The high-power version only takes 7.6 seconds to accelerate in kilometers!
The strengthening of the braking system is closely related to driving safety, so a suitable brake set has become very important. Today, the Volkswagen Tanyue machine we are going to introduce has been upgraded with the front wheel TT9040 and the rear wheel plus a large disc. Let's take a look at the specific case together!
Volkswagen Exploration Brake Upgrade
Modification project: Front wheel TT9040 six-piston caliper +355x32MM high-carbon heat-treated brake discs
Rear wheel 355x12MM enlarged disc +TT brake steel throat
Wheel hub size: 19 inches
The TT9040 six-piston caliper adopts a high-intensity forging process and weighs only 3.6kg. The caliper has a special heat dissipation design. The special stainless steel heat dissipation piston has efficient heat dissipation performance, making braking more efficient and linear.
Coupled with a 355MM large size arc disc, the painted TT disc has anti-oxidation effect, is not easy to rust, does not require maintenance, has superior braking performance, can provide better heat dissipation, and avoids frequent braking. Heat recession.
For heavy SUVs, with high center of gravity and high mass, the braking force of the rear wheels is particularly important. It can not only relieve nodding and improve the attitude of the entire body during braking, but also improve the brake foot feel and braking effect. The best way is to replace it with a more stable and reliable brake disc.
Therefore, the rear wheel is upgraded to a TT355X12MM enlarged disc. The high-carbon heat treated brake disc can make the molecular arrangement more stable and difficult to deform. The large size brake disc increases the distance from the brake skin to the friction center and increases the braking torque. When the braking force applied by the brake caliper and the friction coefficient remain unchanged, the diameter of the large brake disc can increase the braking power, thereby shortening the braking distance.
