Q
what is the difference between inkjet and sublimation paper
I'm a seasoned industrial engineer with a keen interest in machine learning. Here to share insights on latest industry trends.
Inkjet and sublimation papers are designed for different printing technologies. Inkjet paper is coated to absorb the liquid ink sprayed by inkjet printers, ensuring sharp and clear images on a wide range of paper types, from glossy photo paper to canvas. Sublimation paper, on the other hand, is used specifically with sublimation inks. These inks turn into gas under heat and pressure, bonding with polyester fabrics or polyester-coated surfaces. Sublimation paper temporarily holds the dye in place before it's transferred, allowing for vibrant and durable designs on T-shirts, mugs, and other items. The key difference lies in their respective uses: inkjet paper is versatile for everyday printing, while sublimation paper is specialized for transferring dye onto materials.
