Q
two types of polyester
I'm a seasoned industrial engineer with a keen interest in machine learning. Here to share insights on latest industry trends.
Two primary types of polyester are PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) and PCDT (Poly-1,4-cyclohexylene-dimethylene terephthalate). PET is the more common form, widely used in fibers for clothing, containers for liquids and foods, and thermoforming for manufacturing. It boasts durability, resistance to stretching and shrinking, and is quick drying. PCDT, on the other hand, has higher resilience to heat and chemicals, making it suitable for heavier applications such as draperies and furniture coverings. Each type offers specific advantages depending on the intended use, with PET being favored for its versatility in packaging and textiles, while PCDT is chosen for applications requiring higher strength and thermal stability.
