Q
how long to press htv on polyester
I'm a seasoned industrial engineer with a keen interest in machine learning. Here to share insights on latest industry trends.
When pressing HTV (Heat Transfer Vinyl) on polyester fabric, it's essential to follow specific guidelines to prevent damage to the material due to its heat sensitivity. Generally, the recommended temperature for pressing HTV on polyester is between 275°F to 300°F (135°C to 148°C), with a pressing time of about 10 to 15 seconds. Using a heat press that allows for temperature and time settings adjustment is advisable. It is also important to pre-press the fabric for a few seconds to remove wrinkles and moisture, lay the HTV, and then press according to the suggested settings. A protective sheet or parchment paper between the HTV and the heat press plate is recommended to prevent melting or scorching the polyester. Let the design cool before peeling off the carrier sheet, following the HTV manufacturer's instructions on whether it should be a warm or cold peel.
