Q
how to make polyaniline thin film
I'm a seasoned industrial engineer with a keen interest in machine learning. Here to share insights on latest industry trends.
Polyaniline (PANI) thin films can be produced via chemical polymerization or electrochemical deposition. For chemical polymerization, aniline monomers are polymerized in an acidic medium (e.g., HCl) with an oxidizing agent (ammonium persulfate) under constant stirring and at a controlled temperature. After polymerization, the resultant PANI is washed and then dispersed in a suitable solvent. The solution can be spin-coated or drop-cast onto a substrate and dried to form thin films. In electrochemical deposition, aniline is polymerized directly on a conductive substrate by applying a constant voltage in an acidic electrolyte solution containing aniline monomers. This method allows for good control over film thickness and morphology. Choice of substrate, solvent, and deposition parameters can significantly impact the film’s quality and properties.
