Apache Hadoop YARN (Yet Another Resource Negotiator) is a key component of the Apache Hadoop ecosystem, introduced in Hadoop version 2 to enhance the resource management capabilities of Hadoop. YARN consists of three main components: the ResourceManager, which manages the allocation of compute resources among all the applications in the system; the NodeManager, a per-node agent responsible for containers, monitoring their resource usage (CPU, memory, disk, network) and reporting the same to the ResourceManager; and the ApplicationMaster, which is an application-specific code that negotiates resources from the ResourceManager and works with the NodeManager(s) to execute and monitor the tasks. YARN thus enables more efficient, flexible, and scalable data processing across the Hadoop ecosystem.
