This is done by evenly spreading your ground cannabis on a baking sheet and heating it in the oven at about 220-245˚F (105-120˚C) for 30-40 minutes.
Once decarboxylated, mix the cannabis with a high-proof, food-grade solvent like isopropyl alcohol or ethanol to extract the compounds. Ensure the mixture is thoroughly agitated for maximum extraction. After soaking, strain the plant material from the liquid using a cheesecloth or fine mesh strainer.
The next step involves evaporating the solvent, which can be done safely using a rice cooker or double boiler method to gently heat the mixture until the solvent evaporates, leaving behind the pure cannabis oil. Remember, this process requires caution due to the flammability of solvents.
It's crucial to store the cannabis oil in a cool, dark place to maintain its potency and quality. Using high-grade materials and following safety procedures are key to producing a potent and pure product.
