Q
remove glued pvc pipe
I'm a seasoned industrial engineer with a keen interest in machine learning. Here to share insights on latest industry trends.
Removing glued PVC pipe can be challenging due to the strength of PVC cement, which chemically fuses the pipes together. However, it's possible with the right approach. Start by cutting the pipe close to the joint using a hacksaw or a PVC pipe cutter. Once cut, carefully heat the remaining piece of the pipe at the glued joint with a heat gun or a hairdryer, taking care not to burn the PVC or yourself. The goal is to soften the adhesive without melting the pipe. When sufficiently heated, use pliers or a similar tool to twist and pull the pipe from the joint. If the pipe does not budge, you may need to cut it out entirely and replace the fitting. Always wear protective gear and work in a well-ventilated area.
