Axens, Baltic Chemical plant LLC and its JSC RusGazDobycha subsidiary have signed an agreement for the construction of a gas chemical complex near the Gulf of Finland in the Leningrad Region Ust-Luga to provide olefin production technology. The entity is part of the ethane-containing gas processing complex.

Under the agreement, Axens will provide Alphabutol technology for the production of high-purity 1-butene via ethylene dimerization and Alphahexol technology for the production of high-purity 1-hexene via ethylene trimerization. 1-Butene and 1-Hexene are used as copolymerization monomers for the production of various types of polyethylene, including linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) and high density polyethylene (HDPE). 1-Butene will be produced in two units, each with a capacity of 60,000 metric tons per year (m.t./yr). 1-Hexene will be produced in a plant with a capacity of 50,000 million tons per year.

The obligations under the Axens contract include the transfer of licenses, process manuals, various chemicals (catalysts, adsorbents) and specialized equipment. In addition, training and technical support will be provided to the customer's employees under the contract. "The construction of the gas chemistry complex, which is part of the ethane-containing gas processing complex, is proceeding according to plan.-The signing of the agreement for the supply of olefin production technology marks the completion of the next important stage of the project. Importantly, once licensed, Axenss global expertise will be available. Konstantin Makhov, Managing Director of Polohydrochemicals "-Olefins are a key component in the production of polyethylene grades and bring added value to the petrochemical chain. Complex LLC.

By choosing Axens, LLC BCP to leverage our extensive experience in homogeneous catalysis using AlphaButol This technology employs ethylene dimerization for the production of 1-butene and AlphaHexoll for the production of 1-hexene via ethylene trimerization, we are offering you the opportunity to Axens I am pleased to participate in a world-class strategic project in Russia. " emphasizes Olivier Callebert, Director of Process Licensing, Gasoline Petrochemicals Business Unit, Axens.
