For dissolving or breaking down PPO for adhesive purposes, solvents like tetrahydrofuran (THF), chlorinated solvents (e.g., dichloromethane), or strong acids/bases under specific conditions may show some efficacy. It's important to note that the effectiveness greatly depends on the application and the specific conditions, such as temperature and concentration.
