A Stirling engine is a type of heat engine that operates by cyclic compression and expansion of air or other gas at different temperatures, such that there is a net conversion of heat energy to mechanical work. The engine is like a steam engine in that all of the engine's heat flows in and out through the engine wall.

Here's a step-by-step process of how a Sterling engine works:

1. The working gas (usually air, hydrogen or helium) inside the engine absorbs heat from the external source, which can be any type of energy, including solar, chemical, nuclear and others. This external heat source warms up a heat exchanger (the hot cylinder) and in turn heats the gas inside it.

2. As the gas is heated, it expands and pushes a piston. This is the work phase of the Sterling cycle.

3. The expanded gas then flows into a cooling heat exchanger (the cold cylinder), where it cools and contracts.

4. The cycle then repeats.

The Stirling engine is noted for its high efficiency compared to steam engines, quiet operation, and its ability to use almost any heat source. Therefore, the cycle is commonly used in dish/antenna linked with power generator systems, submarines, yachts, auxiliary power systems, and combined heat and power (CHP) units.

Beans are an excellent source of fiber, with some varieties standing out for their particularly high content. Navy beans top the list with about 19g of fiber per cup, followed closely by small white beans at 18.6g, and yellow beans at 18g. Black beans also offer a substantial amount, providing roughly 15g per cup. This high fiber content supports digestive health, aids in cholesterol management, and helps maintain stable blood sugar levels. Including a varied selection of high-fiber beans in your diet can contribute to meeting the daily recommended fiber intake of 25g for women and 38g for men, as recommended by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Propylene glycol (PG) and polypropylene glycol (PPG) are both derived from propylene oxide. The key difference is in their molecular structure. Propylene glycol is a small molecule, essentially a diol with two alcohol groups, used in food, pharmaceutical, and cosmetic industries due to its ability to absorb water and its non-toxic nature. On the other hand, polypropylene glycol is a polymer, formed by linking multiple propylene glycol molecules together. This results in a substance with a higher molecular weight and viscosity, making PPG suitable for industrial applications, such as in polyurethane foams, lubricants, and certain pharmaceutical formulations. The choice between PG and PPG depends on the specific properties needed for the application, such as solubility, hygroscopicity, and lubrication.

Polyethylene, a widely used plastic in packaging and containers, is generally considered to be safe and non-toxic. It is a polymer made from ethylene monomers and, due to its stability, does not easily leach chemicals under normal use conditions, including exposure to food and beverages. This characteristic is why it's commonly used for food storage containers and water bottles. However, concerns arise during its production and disposal. Manufacturing polyethylene can lead to the release of toxic substances, including greenhouse gases. Additionally, at the end of its lifecycle, polyethylene contributes to plastic pollution if not recycled properly. Incineration of polyethylene can release toxic compounds, including dioxins. While direct toxicity from using polyethylene products is low, it's essential to consider its environmental impact and promote recycling and alternatives to reduce waste and pollution.
