Menthol prices rise as supply falls

NEW DELHI: Menthol prices rose by Rs 5 per kg in the national capital today, largely on the back of fall in supplies from producing belts against rising demand from pharmaceutical units.

Menthol bold crystal, menthol flake and mentha oil prices rose by Rs 5 each to conclude at Rs 1,585, Rs 1,520 and Rs 1,480 per kg, respectively.

Traders said increased demand from pharmaceutical units and other consuming industries against fall in supplies from producing belts in Uttar Pradesh, mainly pushed up menthol prices in the wholesale chemical market here.
