Associated Dyestuff proposes new plant in Gujarat
Associated Dyestuff has proposed to set up a dyes, dyes intermediates and pigment manufacturing plant at Dudhwada in Gujarat?s Vadodara district. In its presentation to the Ministry of Environment and Forest for environmental clearance, the company said the approximate cost of the proposed establishment will be Rs 15 crore including the cost of environmental management system which will be around Rs 2.5 crore.
The products the company intend to produce are crude spray dried dyes (150 MT/m), vinyl sulphone (acetanilide) and its derivatives (200 MT/m), hydrochloric acid (100 MT/m), beta napthol (100 MT/m), various dyes intermediates like gamma acid/ K acid/ J acid/ N methyl J acid/ Meta Urido Aniline/ Tobias acid/ Sulpho Tobias acid (50 MT/m) and pigment CPC blue (50 MT/m).
The total land area is 35,000 sq m of which 11,550 sq m is of green belt.
Conceived in 1977 and with manufacturing facilities of reactive dyes and acid dyes at GIDC Estate at Vatva in Ahmedabad, the company has proposed to establish the new unit as ?an approach towards backward integration and looking to the increasing demand for end products?.
The major raw materials required are naphthalene, caustic soda, lime powder, oleum, methanol, sulphuric acid, nitric acid and iron powder (for hydrochloric acid); acetanilide, ethylene oxide, chloro sulphonic acid and sodium bisulphate (for vinyl sulphone and its derivatives); naphthalene, sulphuric acid and caustic soda flakes (for beta napthol); beta napthol, DNCB, hydrochloric acid, J acid, caustic acid, Tobias acid, MPD and sulphuric (for dyes intermediates); various diazo and coupling compound, hydrochloric acid, cynauric chloride, sodium nitrate, soda ash (for sprayed dried dyes); cuprous chloride, urea, ammonium molybdate, pthalic anlydride, ortho nitro toluene and sulphuric acid (for pigment CPC Blue).
The company said adequate safety measures will be provided besides adhering to all healthcare norms.
