DFPCL subsidiary Smartchem to invest Rs. 1,750 Cr in chemical plant
Smartchem Technologies Limited (STL), a 100% subsidiary of Deepak Fertilizers and Petrochemicals Corporation Limited (DFPCL) and is investing in Rs. Rs. 1750 crore for construction of Industrial Ammonium Nitrate (TAN) complex at Gopalpur Industrial Park, Orissa.
Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik laid the foundation stone of Industrial Ammonium Nitrate (TAN) Complex at Gopalpur Industrial Park on December 9, 2021 . Smartchem Technologies Limited Sailesh, Mehta, Chairman & Managing Director was present with Dibya Shankar Mishra, Minister of State, Ministry of MSME, Energy and Industries.
Appreciating the development, Patnaik said, "STL It is one of India's leading manufacturers of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and specialty fertilizers.STL It is also one of the world's leading manufacturers of industrial ammonium nitrate and is setting up a new plant in Gopalpur." STL is one of the companies making a positive impact on industry and agriculture. STL's investment of over $1.75 billion in the plant will help. It is a major player in the chemical industry and will also contribute to regional growth and development. The plant has the potential to create 1,800 jobs and will be of great benefit to the local community."
Mishra said, "The department has been working with other departments to provide seamless services to the industry. Today's event was very meaningful. It proves the success of this initiative. The Tata Steel Industrial Park project at Gopalpur is under construction with an investment of Rs. 175 capacity of Rs. 37,777 crore for Rs. 100 crore KTPA. the power plant utilizes Casale technology to ensure that it is the safest and lowest emission power plant.
The project is expected to be completed by 2024 Completion year August, Engineering work is expected to be 50% complete and completed by 2022 Completion year 1 This month started. The project is strategically located in close proximity to major mining centers and Gopalpur Port to meet domestic demand and explore export opportunities.
Once the project is completed and launched, Orissa will become a major source of oil TAN covering the entire eastern region, where most of the future mining and infrastructure growth is expected to be concentrated. It could create 1,500 jobs during the project and 325 jobs during operation. It can also attract investment from explosives manufacturers, LDPE/HDPE bag and liner manufacturers and other ancillary units.
This is part of DFPCL's plan to get closer to the end user and increase maximum revenue. By becoming a solution provider, you can reduce supply shortages and generate more import substitutes than Rs. 4,500 crore.
The power plant has the lowest emissions and utilizes advanced NOx/N2O abatement technologies. The plant is expected to generate 4.5 MW of power from waste heat steam.
