LyondellBasell announced today that PetroChina Jilin Petrochemical Company will transfer a sublicense of LyondellBasell's polyethylene technology to its plant in Jilin City, Jilin Province. The newly licensed technology includes LyondellBasell's leading high-pressure Lupotech technology using a 100 kiloton per annum (KTA) autoclave and a 300 KTA pipeline line. The two lines are focused on the production of low density polyethylene (LDPE) ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA). In addition, 4,000 KTA Hostalen "Advanced Cascade Technology" (ACP) lines will be built in parallel for the production of high-density polyethylene (HDPE). PetroChina Jilin Petrochemical Company will be able to license additional polyethylene technology from LyondellBasell, which is an important existing license with a long and successful history.
