Auto components maker Pricol on Wednesday said that it was collaborating with US-based Sibros Technologies for its connected vehicle solutions. The company plans to combine the cloud-based platform of Sibros to its own products to enable features such as software and firmware updates, vehicle data collection for analytics, remote diagnostics and troubleshooting for the automakers.Automakers today are offering an increasing array of connected vehicle solutions, especially for electric vehicles (EV), including regular software updates like those received in smartphones.“We believe that the next generation of connected vehicles will be software and data-intensive and will require a comprehensive suite of cloud and in-vehicle software to introduce new features and keep them updated to maximise performance, efficiency, safety and security,” Vikram Mohan, the managing director of Pricol said in a statement. “In Sibros, we have found an ideal partner who brings the best of connected vehicle suite of solutions with a global perspective.”The Sibros Deep Connected Platform (DCP) is a vertically integrated vehicle-to-cloud system combining embedded firmware and SaaS applications, as per the statement. The California-based company recently raised $70 million in its Series B round of funding from Energy Impact Partners (EIP), Google, Qualcomm Ventures, Fontinalis Partners, Iron Pillar, Nexus Venture Partners and Moneta Ventures.The stock of Pricol Ltd closed 0.13% higher on the BSE on Wednesday at Rs 118. The benchmark Sensex closed 0.12% lower.
