NOVA Chemicals Corp. of Merlin announced a long-term agreement (PCR) for the supply of high-quality post-consumer recycled material for increased consumer packaging with Plastics Supply Inc. the largest plastics recycler in Canada. This marks NOVA Chemicals' entry into the PCR market. Luis Sierra, President and CEO of NOVA Chemicals "Plastics have tremendous value and are vital to modern life." NOVA Chemicals is committed to finding new ways to capture value beyond the initial use to promote a circular economy for plastics. "I said yes," he said. "Many of the world's leading consumer brands are committed to increasing the average PCR content of packaging plastics to 25% per year by 2025. To meet the global demand for PCR-to-PCR requirements, NOVA Chemicals and Merlin Plastics have partnered to reuse products that consumers put in their blue garbage cans.
