Chemfab Alkalis Limited (CCAL) has successfully commissioned its second PVC

Homogeneous socketed polyvinyl chloride (PVC-O) pipe is the next generation of polymer products for high pressure water pipes. The pipe has recently entered the Indian market and is designed for high pressure water transmission applications.

PVC-O is a metal-performance plastic comparable to metal pipe and has many advantages over metal.

CCAL has established a high quality PVC-O pipe manufacturing plant. The plant is a zero-emission facility, which means that no waste is generated during the manufacturing process. This is in line with CCAL’s culture of sustainability and environmental protection.

This new PVC-O plant is located at TADA Sri City, an integrated commercial city located in NH block of Nellore district in Andhra Pradesh 16, 55 kilometers north of Chennai. With the commissioning of two production lines, the total PVC-O capacity has increased to 6,000 tons.

The company has India’s first membrane cell plant for chlor-alkali production, founded by Dr. Raoo Production in 1985. CCAL has many ‘firsts’, patents and global recognition for the viability and implementation of various innovative technologies in the Chlor-Alkali industry.

In particular, the Karapet plant led the country’s industrial transformation by utilizing thin-film technology for the production of chlor-alkali. Today, all new and expanded chlor-alkali plants in India are required to utilize thin-film technology, which was once considered unfeasible and impractical.
