Samsung Engineering announced on Tuesday that it has secured an order worth $229 million for a high-density polyethylene plant from ONGC Petro Additions Limited (OPaL), a subsidiary of India’s state-owned oil company ONGC (Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited). The plant will be built at Dahej Special Economic Zone in Gujarat and is expected to produce 3.4 million tons of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) per year. Samsung Engineering will handle the one-time turnkey design, procurement, construction and test run, with an expected completion date of August 2013 .
