1. Flotation is due to the natural floatability of talc. Therefore, hydrocarbon oil collectors can be flotated. The commonly used collector is kerosene, and flotation oil is used as the foaming agent. The foam generated by methyl isobutyl carbinol (MIBC) is relatively brittle, making it easy to obtain high-quality concentrate. The talc flotation process is relatively simple, requiring only one rough selection, one sweep, and 2-4 selections to obtain the final concentrate.

2. Manual selection is based on the different slipperiness of talcum powder and gangue minerals. Talc has good slipperiness. The higher the grade, the better the slipperiness. It is easy to identify by feel. Most domestic talc mines commonly use hand selection to produce high-grade talc blocks.

3. Electrostatic beneficiation of talc ore except talc. It also contains magnesite, magnetite, pyropyrite, tremolite and other minerals with an embedded particle size of about 0.5mm. In an electrostatic field, talc is negatively charged and magnesite is positively charged. Magnetite and magnetorite are both good conductors, so they can be easily separated in an electric field.

4. Magnetic separation of talcum powder concentrate requires a certain fineness. It also needs to have a certain degree of whiteness. Due to the presence of dyed iron minerals in the ore, sometimes the above method is not enough, and magnetic separation is needed to remove iron minerals. Wet magnetic separation can reduce the iron content of talc concentrate from 4%-5% to less than 1%.

5. Photoelectric inspection Photoelectric inspection is a method of sorting based on the difference in surface optical properties of talc and impurity minerals. Photoelectric sorting machine includes preparation mechanism (ore bin, ore feeder, belt conveyor), radiation source and detector (sensor), electronic control loop and actuator, etc. In addition, the characteristic of talc emitting white fluorescence under ultraviolet irradiation is utilized.
