Oxalic acid

Oxalic acid exists widely in nature, such as spinach, sugar beet and other plants, is an important metabolic product of organisms.

In the plant kingdom, there are more than 100 kinds of plants rich in oxalic acid, especially spinach, amaranth, beet, purslane, taro, sweet potato and rhubarb in the highest content of plants.

Oxalic acid production enterprises in China mainly use "carbohydrate oxidation method" and "sodium formate method" to produce oxalic acid.

The raw materials required for the "carbohydrate oxidation method" are mainly carbohydrates (starch, glucose, etc.) and nitric acid.

The raw materials required for the "sodium formate process" are mainly coal, caustic soda and sulfuric acid.

Industrial use:

· Used as reducing agent, bleach agent and refining agent for certain metals.

In the dye industry, it is combined with certain chemicals to form dyes and acts as a stabilizer for dyes.

· Used as a tanning agent during leather processing to make leather more stable and prevent rot and hardening.

Other uses:

· In the photovoltaic industry, silicon wafers for solar panels are used to reduce defects on the surface of silicon wafers.

· Used as a cleaning agent to remove rust and stains from metal, stone and wood.

· Used as an industrial disinfectant.

In some medical fields, it is used as a diluting or purifying agent to further purify or dilute certain chemicals.

· Used as reductant in developer and wastewater treatment agent to effectively remove calcium precipitates in water.
