On September 14, it was reported that Continental Carbon, a subsidiary of Taiwan's China Rubber International Group (CSRC), recently successfully won ISCC Plus certification at its two factories located in Phoenix City, Alabama, and Sunray, Texas.

It is reported that the factory in Phoenix City, Alabama, has become an important production base for Continental Carbon Company's tire tread grade carbon black since the early 1980s, and will cease operations until the end of 2023. Faced with this change, mainland carbon quickly adjusted its strategy. In May this year, it joined hands with Eco-Infinico, the Thai branch of Taiwan's Xue Changxing Industrial Group, to plan to jointly build a waste tire recycling carbon black (rCB) factory at the site of the Fenicus raw carbon black factory. According to the Carbon Black Industry Network, the joint venture project is expected to be officially put into operation in 2026. By then, it will become one of the largest waste tire pyrolysis plants in North America, with an annual production capacity of 30,000 tons of rCB and 35,000 tons of tire pyrolysis oil (TPO) and 2300 tons of steel wire.
