Recently, Jiangsu Huachang Chemical Co., Ltd., which is designed by China Chemical Chengda Co., Ltd., was awarded the title of the 2023 key industry energy efficiency "leader" enterprise in the soda industry jointly issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the National Development and Reform Commission, and the State Administration of Market Supervision. The process technology and main patented equipment of the joint soda plant were developed and designed by China Chemical Chengda Company. The plant production capacity is 700,000 tons/year of soda ash and 770,000 tons of ammonium chloride. The main products include light soda ash, heavy soda ash and ammonium chloride. The energy consumption per unit product of light soda ash is 134.48 kg standard coal/ton, which is an increase of 15.95% compared with the energy efficiency benchmark level, and the improvement is far ahead in the industry.

China Chemical Chengda Company is the earliest national-level engineering research and design unit in China to produce soda ash from salt as raw material. It has completely independent intellectual property rights of synthetic soda process technology (ammonia-alkali method, combined soda method) and key equipment (carbonization tower, etc.) patented technology. Jiangsu Huachang's 700,000-ton/year joint caustic soda plant relies on the "Enterprise Academician Workstation" jointly established by both parties as a technological innovation platform, and adopts Chengda Company's advanced carbonization technology and ammonium chloride crystallization technology. The plant's energy consumption level and environmental protection and clean production level are leading in China.
