According to customs data, in July 2024, China imported 62,300 tons of soda ash, a year-on-year increase of 4,098.92% and a month-on-month decrease of 17.64%; from January to July 2024, the total imported soda ash was approximately 811,600 tons, a year-on-year increase of 293%, and the import volume increased by approximately 605,400 tons.

In July, soda ash importing countries were: the United States, Pakistan, and United Arab Emirates, accounting for 87%, 6%, and 3% of the total imports respectively.

In July 2024, China exported 57,000 tons of soda ash, a year-on-year decrease of 63.24% and a month-on-month decrease of 13.54%; from January to July 2024, a total of 505,300 tons of soda ash were exported, a year-on-year decrease of 55%, and export volume decreased by approximately 608,900 tons.

Among them, the top three countries in soda ash exports in July were: Thailand, the Philippines, and South Korea, accounting for 17%, 17%, and 16% of the total exports respectively.
