Analysis of cumulative total output of caustic soda in the first half of the year:According to the latest statistics of the National Bureau of Statistics, the cumulative total output of caustic soda in China in the first half of 2024 was 21.5004 million tons, an increase of 1.334 million tons compared with 20.166 million tons in the same period last year, an increase of 6.62 percent. Among them, from the perspective of the year-on-year range, production in May and June showed a significant increase over the same period last year, with an increase of 7.46% and 9.19% respectively.

From the data of caustic soda production in the first half of the past five years from 2020 to 2024, the output of caustic soda in China as a whole shows a trend of increasing year by year. Compared with the growth rate in the first half of 2020-2024, the year-on-year growth rate in 2021 was the most obvious, at 12.36%, while it showed a negative growth trend in 2020, and showed a trend of slight increase year by year from 2022 to 2024.

The reasons for the continuous increase of caustic soda production in China:

First, the operating rate of caustic soda plant in our country remains high. The effective utilization rate of caustic soda plant increased continuously in the first half of 2020-2024, and the overall start-up was still at a high level. Although the output growth rate showed a negative growth in 2020, the overall output showed a trend of slight increase due to the high operating rate. Second, the capacity of caustic soda continues to increase. From 2020 to 2024, the production capacity of caustic soda in China has been increasing slightly. By the first half of 2024, the production capacity of caustic soda in China has increased by nearly 4.5 million tons compared with 2020.

Analysis of caustic soda production distribution regions and provinces in the first half of the year:

Distribution area:Judging from the distribution area of caustic soda production in China in the first half of 2024, North China is the largest and firmly ranks first in caustic soda production in China, and the output in Northwest China is the second largest in the country. however, compared with North China, the proportion of caustic soda production in the first half of 2024 is significantly lower than that in North China, and East China is the third largest area of caustic soda production in China. The proportion of output in Central China, South China, Southwest and Northeast is far lower than that of the first three.

According to the output data of caustic soda production in various regions of China in the first half of the year, the total output of caustic soda in North China is 7.7935 million tons, accounting for 36.25% of the total output of caustic soda in China, exceeding 1/3 of the national level. The main category of caustic soda production in North China is liquid caustic soda. The total output of caustic soda in Northwest China in the first half of the year was 4.8445 million tons, accounting for 22.53% of the total output of caustic soda in China. The total output of caustic soda in East China ranked third in the country in the first half of the year, with an output of 4.1678 million tons, accounting for 19.38% of the total output of caustic soda in the country. In the four regions of Central China, South China, Southwest and Northeast, the total output of caustic soda accounted for less than 10% in the first half of the year, of which the total output of caustic soda in central China was 1.7639 million tons in the first half of the year, accounting for 8.2% of the total output of caustic soda in China. The total output of caustic soda in South China was 1.2466 million tons in the first half of the year, accounting for 5.8% of the total output of caustic soda in China. The total output of caustic soda in the southwest region in the first half of the year was 1.0964 million tons, accounting for 5.1% of the country's total caustic soda output, while the northeast region produced the least, with a total output of 587700 tons in the first half, accounting for only 2.73% of the country's total caustic soda output.

Output rankings by provinces:According to the ranking of China's caustic soda production provinces in the first half of 2024, the top five provinces are Shandong Province, Inner Mongolia, Jiangsu Province, Xinjiang and Zhejiang Province. among them, Shandong Province is still the largest province of caustic soda production in China in the first half of 2024, with a total output of 5.9796 million tons from January to June, accounting for 27.81% of the country's total caustic soda production, which is much higher than that of Inner Mongolia, the second largest province. The total output of Inner Mongolia in the first half of the year accumulated 1.9136 million tons, accounting for 8.9 percent of the country's total caustic soda production; Jiangsu Province, which ranked third, accumulated 1.6044 million tons of caustic soda production in the first half of the year, accounting for 7.46 percent of the country's total caustic soda production; Xinjiang, which ranked fourth, had an output of 1.4998 million tons, accounting for 6.98 percent; and Zhejiang Province ranked fifth, with a total production of 1.2445 million tons in the first half, accounting for 5.79 percent. In other areas, the output of caustic soda accounted for less than 5% in the first half of the year.
