According to Tuduo statistics, China's sponge titanium output in April 2024 was 21,300 tons, a month-on-month increase of 5.45%, and a year-on-year increase of 15.45%. Sponge titanium output gradually increased; from January to April 2024, sponge titanium output was approximately 78,300 tons, a year-on-year increase of 7.20%, and output increased by more than 5200 tons.
As new production capacity continues to be released in the market, sponge titanium production maintains a growth trend, and production will continue to increase in May.
In April 2024, China's top three producing regions of titanium sponge in China, Liaoning, Sichuan, and Yunnan accounted for 24%, 18%, and 16% of China's total output respectively.
In April, the market price of sponge titanium temporarily stabilized, downstream market demand increased, supply and demand in the sponge titanium market increased, and companies had good orders on hand; the price of magnesium ingots fell somewhat, and the pressure on sponge titanium cost eased. However, due to the tight supply of titanium raw materials and high prices, the sponge titanium market is expected to operate steadily.
