According to customs data, in March 2024, China imported 215,500 tons of soda ash, a year-on-year increase of 372.93% and a month-on-month increase of 18.57%; from January to March 2024, the total imported soda ash was approximately 534,700 tons, an increase of 1027% year-on-year, and the import volume increased by approximately 487,300 tons.
In March, soda ash importing countries were: the United States, United Arab Emirates, and Pakistan, accounting for 90%, 5%, and 1% of the total imports respectively.
In March 2024, China exported 99,900 tons of soda ash, a year-on-year decrease of 38.75%, and a month-on-month increase of 93.06%; from January to March 2024, a total of 217,900 tons of soda ash were exported, a year-on-year decrease of 52%, and the export volume decreased by approximately 232,900 tons.
Among them, the top three countries in soda ash exports in March were: Philippines, South Korea, and Malaysia, accounting for 20%, 13%, and 9% of the total exports respectively.
