According to customs data, China imported 306200 tons of titanium ore in January 2024, down 4.38% from the same period last year and 15.87% month-on-month, with an average monthly price of 346.43 US dollars / ton. In January 2024, China exported 2035.22 tons of ilmenite, down 76.15 percent from the same period last year and 9.04 percent from the same period last year. In February, China exported 948.53 tons of ilmenite, down 9.77 percent from the same period last year and 53.39 percent from the same period last year. From January to February 2024, China exported about 2983.75 tons of ilmenite, down 68.87 percent from the same period last year, and the export volume decreased by about 6600.05 tons.

 

 

Titanium dioxide

In January 2024, China imported 6613.45 tons of titanium dioxide, an increase of 81.33 percent over the same period last year, and a decrease of 40.73 percent compared with the same period last year, of which 2133.14 tons were imported from sulfuric acid process and 4480.31 tons from chlorination process.

In February, China imported 9346.92 tons of titanium dioxide, an increase of 93.57 percent over the same period last year and 41.33 percent over the same period last year, of which 3448.68 tons were imported from sulfuric acid process and 5898.24 tons from chlorination process.

From January to February 2024, China imported a total of about 16000 tons of titanium dioxide, an increase of 88.31 percent over the same period last year, and an increase of about 7484.57 tons.

 

Among them, the top three regions of titanium dioxide imports from January to February 2024 are Mexico, Australia and Germany, accounting for 41%, 21% and 12% of the total imports, respectively.

The average monthly export price of titanium dioxide from January to February was 2195.23 US dollars / ton, an increase of 4.09 percent over the same period last year.

 

 

Sponge titanium

China imported 0 tons of sponge titanium from January to February 2024, a decrease of about 100.05 tons in the same period last year.

In January 2024, China exported 261.0 tons of sponge titanium, down 27.36 percent from the same period last year, an increase of 221.43 percent over the same period last year; in February, China exported 577.5 tons of sponge titanium, an increase of 121.25 percent over the same period last year, an increase of 58.86 percent over the same period last year. From January to February 2024, China's cumulative exports of sponge titanium were about 838.5 tons, an increase of 88.54 percent over the same period last year, and exports increased by about 393.75 tons.

 

The top three regions of titanium sponge export from January to February 2024 are South Korea, the United States and Italy, accounting for 26%, 23% and 12%, respectively.
