According to Tuduo statistics, China's sponge titanium output in July 2023 was 17250 tons, a year-on-year increase of 14.64%, and a month-on-month decrease of 4.70%; the cumulative output of sponge titanium from January to July 2023 was 127,200 tons, a year-on-year increase of 51.3%, and the output increased by approximately 43,100 tons.

Due to declining market demand and oversupply, companies are under great sales pressure. Sponge titanium prices continue to fall. Manufacturers are under great production pressure. Some full-process companies have also reduced production, and output declined in July.

In July 2023, China's top three producing regions of titanium sponge in China, Liaoning, Yunnan, and Xinjiang accounted for 30%, 17%, and 14% of China's total output respectively.

Due to weak terminal demand, the sponge titanium market continued to weaken and decline in July. The market price fell to a low level, and the prices of all enterprises in the entire process also suffered losses. According to Tuduo data, the current transaction price of sponge titanium is between 48,000 and 54,000 yuan/ton, which is low. The price has fallen to a market low in 2020, and the operating pressure of the sponge titanium market is great. At present, the overall market inventory is still high, and the price is expected to remain low in August.
