Affected by the release of new production capacity in the market, the companies that have released new production capacity mainly include Longbai Group, Qianjiang Fangyuan, China Nuclear Titanium Dioxide, Hunan Yutu, etc.; the market output increased significantly from July to October, and the output in October was the highest in the year. However, the market has entered the off-season, and titanium dioxide consumption has been under pressure. Some companies have been overhauled one after another, and the supply has decreased compared with the previous period.
Enterprises that stopped production in the early stages of December resumed. Although some manufacturers had limited production, the overall impact was not significant, and output increased in December.
The top three regions in December's output were Sichuan, Shandong and Anhui, accounting for 21%, 15%, and 13% of the total output respectively;
In December, the output of chlorinated titanium dioxide was 56,500 tons. The cumulative output of chlorinated titanium dioxide from January to December 2023 was 609,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 24.15%.
Due to weak demand in the downstream market, the titanium dioxide market is under great operating pressure, and some production companies have carried out maintenance in advance. According to incomplete statistics, about 13 companies in the market repaired equipment from January to February, and the increase in market output was limited. Titanium dioxide output in January may be basically flat.
