According to statistics from Tuduo, China's titanium dioxide output in August 2023 was 356,200 tons, a month-on-month increase of 7.63%, and an increase of 36.72% year-on-year; the cumulative output of titanium dioxide from January to August 2023 was 2.6626 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 1.00%, and the output increased by approximately 26,200 tons.
In August, maintenance companies returned to normal production, manufacturers had more orders on hand, and the starting load of some manufacturers increased. Titanium dioxide output increased in August.
The top three regions in August output were Sichuan, Shandong and Henan, accounting for 22%, 15%, and 14% of the total output respectively;
In August, the output of chlorinated titanium dioxide was 46,000 tons. The cumulative output of chlorinated titanium dioxide from January to August 2023 was 394,600 tons, a year-on-year increase of 9.33%.
The titanium dioxide market has ushered in two rounds of price hikes. Manufacturers have placed more orders. Some companies have received orders until mid-October, and manufacturers have started operations to maintain a high level. Due to the high prices of titanium dioxide and sulfuric acid, the production costs of titanium dioxide companies are under great pressure, and the market has new orders. The price of single orders is firm. Currently, manufacturers 'inventories are low and the market supply is tight. Some market participants are more optimistic about the later market, and the titanium dioxide market may have expectations for price increases again.
