Japan's Toho Titanium Industry's sales increase in the first half of the year

On November 11, due to strong downstream demand, sales of Japanese producer Toho Titanium increased as of September 30 compared with the same period last year.

The company's sales from April to September this year totaled 43.8 billion yen (US$284.9 million), up from 36.6 billion yen in the same period in 2023. Operating profit increased to 2.4 billion yen, slightly higher than 2.3 billion yen in the same period last year.

The company said demand for titanium in aerospace and industry remained stable, while demand for high-purity titanium in the semiconductor industry rebounded. As a result, net sales of the titanium business increased to 32.8 billion yen, an increase of approximately 19.8% from net sales of 27.4 billion yen in the first half of fiscal 2023.

Sales in the catalysts business increased to 4.8 billion yen from 3.7 billion yen a year ago, while sales of chemicals increased to 6.2 billion yen from 5.7 billion yen.
