On October 21, it was reported that recently, Noji Tire and Reselo AB, a well-known Swedish biomaterials company, have joined forces to jointly explore the infinite possibilities of birch bark rubber as a new material for tire manufacturing. This cooperation marks an important step in the green transformation of the tire manufacturing industry.

In the pursuit of environmental protection and innovation, Nokian Tire coincides with Resero. The two parties have signed a cooperation agreement aimed at in-depth research and development and optimization of the performance of birch bark rubber in order to meet the high standards and strict requirements for industrial tire production. Preliminary test results show that birch bark rubber has shown great potential as a tire material and is expected to bring new environmentally friendly options to tire production.

According to Carbon Black Industry Network, Nooji Tire has been committed to a sustainable development strategy and has set an ambitious goal: by 2030, the proportion of renewable or recyclable resources in tires will reach 50%. Previously, the company had successful practices. In June 2024, Nokian Tire launched the "Nokian Tyres Green Step Ligna" concept tire, which uses the new "BioMotio" bio-based compound developed by UPM, further verifying the feasibility of bio-based materials in tire manufacturing. In August of the same year, Noki Tire's factory in Nokia, Finland, was awarded the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC PLUS), which allows the company to use ISCC PLUS certified sustainable raw materials in tire production. Set a model for green development in the tire industry.

The cooperation between Nokian Tire and Resero is not only expected to bring revolutionary new materials to the tire manufacturing industry, but will also promote the development of the entire industry in a more environmentally friendly and sustainable direction.
