On June 26, the State Administration for Market Regulation (National Standards Committee) recently approved and issued a new mandatory national standard, which stipulates stricter regulations on equipment energy efficiency and product energy consumption.

The revision of the new standard GB29449 -2024 "Energy Consumption Limits for Units of Tires and Carbon Black Products" has the active participation of Sailun Group Co., Ltd. and Qingdao Shuangxing Tire Industry Co., Ltd. This standard will completely replace the two original mandatory national standards, namely GB29449-2012 and GB29440-2012. The new standard sets stricter limit levels on the energy consumption per unit product of tires and carbon black, and the energy consumption limits of some tire products have even been reduced by 20% to 30%. It is a matter of pride that, according to the new standards, the primary and secondary energy consumption limits of major tire products have reached the highest energy efficiency level in the industry.

According to the Carbon Black Industry Network, the implementation of the new standard is expected to produce significant energy-saving effects. All-steel and semi-steel radial tires are expected to save energy consumption by up to 1.6345 million tons of standard coal every year. What is even more striking is that the energy consumption value of carbon black per unit product is expected to be reduced by more than 80%, which means that my country will reach the international leading level in terms of fuel consumption.
