On May 10, Xichang Chuangrun New Materials Co., Ltd. sent good news that the high purity titanium ingot with a diameter of 1 meter and a height of 2.34 meters was successfully released, which is currently the largest high purity titanium ingot in China.
Once upon a time, only Japan and the United States had three high-purity titanium production enterprises in the world. China's import of high-purity titanium not only has a high price, but also the production technology is a "choking" project. In 2012, Ningbo Chuangrun New Materials Co., Ltd. cast China's first high-purity titanium ingot, solving the problem of "neck jam", and China became the third country capable of producing high-purity titanium. Ningbo Chuangrun New Materials Co., Ltd. has also become the only qualified supplier of semiconductor grade low oxygen ultra-high purity titanium in China, and the fourth enterprise in the world to master the production of high purity titanium, breaking the technical blockade and monopoly of Japan and the United States in the field of high purity titanium electronic materials in China, and reducing the selling price of high purity titanium in China.
In May 2023, Chuangrun New Materials Co., Ltd. signed a contract with Xichang Vanadium and Titanium Industrial Park, and the project officially landed in Xichang. In less than a year, Xichang High-tech Investment Company completed the standardized plant construction of Xichang Chuangrun project, and on April 26, 2024, Xichang Chuangrun project was put into production. Only 9 days after it was put into production, the first furnace of Xichang Chuangrun project successfully forged the largest high purity titanium ingot in China.
Twelve years ago, the high-purity titanium produced by Chuangrun New material solved the problem of "neck jam". Twelve years later, China's largest high-purity titanium ingot was released in Xichang and will soon achieve a stable batch supply. This means that the Xichang Chuangrun project is no longer an "empty talk", and the products produced by Xichang Chuangrun will enter the market in an all-round way, marking a new step in the production of high-purity metals.
As a key investment attraction project in Xichang, Xichang Chuangrun project covers an area of 43323.59 square meters and builds 100 high-purity titanium electrolysis production lines. Using 99.8% pure titanium sponge as raw material, a new generation of molten salt electrolysis combined with electron beam smelting process is adopted. The annual output of high-purity titanium with a purity of 99.999% is 1408 tons and high-end titanium (alloy) 3036 tons, fully meeting the needs of semiconductor, aerospace, new energy, medical and other industries.
It is understood that after the first phase of the project is completed and put into production, the annual output value will be more than 1.3 billion yuan, and the annual tax revenue will be 65.274 million yuan, so as to solve the problem of local employment. The annual output value of the second phase is expected to be about 2.2 billion yuan.
Xichang Chuangrun new project will further improve the level of titanium manufacturing in Panxi area, which means that the "melting-forging" deep processing industry chain of Xichang vanadium and titanium industry will be more perfect, and will promote the high-quality development of Xichang vanadium and titanium industry.
