Walking into the construction site of Yunnan Desheng Iron and Steel Co., Ltd., which is located at the foot of Baita Mountain in Jinshan Town, a modern new steel plant has been formed and hundreds of workers are installing all the equipment. Li Zhenming, deputy director of the project special class office, said that the project is expected to be put into production in July this year.

24 years ago, Sichuan Desheng Group acquired the original Lufeng Iron and Steel Plant and registered Yunnan Desheng Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. in Lufeng. After many periods of technological transformation, Yunnan Desheng Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. has become the largest private iron and steel manufacturing enterprise in Yunnan Province. it was selected into the top 20 list of non-public enterprises in Yunnan Province in 2023, making Lufeng steel industry out of its predicament and creating resplendence.

In order to speed up the transformation and development of the iron and steel industry to green and low carbon and extend the industrial chain, Yunnan Desheng Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. implemented the project of transformation and upgrading and construction of Vanadium and Titanium Metal Ecological Industrial Park. The project has a total investment of 18 billion yuan and will be built in two phases. In the first phase, a green vanadium-titanium steel base with an annual output of 2.74 million tons of iron, 2.7 million tons of steel and 100000 tons of vanadium slag will be built. The second phase of the construction of vanadium and titanium metal intensive processing, green assembly building, high-end equipment manufacturing, etc., to achieve transformation and upgrading from ordinary iron and steel smelting to vanadium-titanium new material industry as the core.

In the Qinfeng area of Yunnan Lufeng Industrial Park, the titanium dioxide and sponge titanium production lines of Lufeng base of Longbai Group are being produced at full capacity. In 2023, the base produced 33000 tons of titanium sponge and 120000 tons of titanium dioxide. At present, the production capacity of Lufeng sponge titanium ranks first in the world, and the 15000-ton production line of the second phase of the rotor-grade sponge titanium intelligent manufacturing project has entered trial production. It is expected to reach the production standard in June, with an additional output value of 2.1 billion yuan.

Forty-four years ago, Yunnan Jinrun CNC Machinery Manufacturing Co., Ltd. was a small village factory producing cast iron pots. With the continuous transformation and upgrading of the company's innovation drive, it has developed into a state-level special new "Little Giant" enterprise and the leader of Yunnan CNC machine tool manufacturing industry. With it as the "chain master", Lufeng Intelligent equipment Manufacturing Park leads the country in terms of the completeness of the industrial chain, and the production of CNC milling machines and gantry machining centers ranks in the forefront of China's industry. the leading products CNC rocker milling machine series products account for more than 80% of the Chinese market, and have gathered 48 upstream and downstream enterprises, such as Guangdong Fengbao, Yunnan Xiongdi, Lufeng Shunxiang, Lufeng Yunxiong and so on. Recently, Lufeng municipal government and China General Machinery Institute Group Yunnan Branch Co., Ltd. successfully signed a cooperation agreement on Yunnan industrial mother machine pilot (industrialization) base project. it is proposed to build an advanced equipment R & D and industrialization base in Lufeng Intelligent equipment Manufacturing Park.

Up to now, Lufeng City has approved new energy projects under construction with a total installed capacity of 750600 kilowatts, 11 photovoltaic power station projects have been completed and put into production, and 9 centralized photovoltaic projects have been connected to the grid, achieving a full capacity of 655000 kilowatts, which has been included in the construction of the national roof distributed photovoltaic pilot county. Lufeng Longji Silicon material Co., Ltd. has a production capacity of 50 gigawatts of monocrystalline silicon chips, speeding up the realization of full production; the vacuum production of polysilicon from Chuxiong Saiken silicon mud has been completed and put into production.

Lufeng City makes every effort to promote innovation-driven development and strengthen the cultivation of high-tech enterprises. As of 2023, there are 7 provincial innovative small and medium-sized enterprises, 8 provincial specialized special new small and medium-sized enterprises, 2 national specialized special new "little giant" enterprises, 13 provincial high-tech enterprises and 46 scientific and technological small and medium-sized enterprises in Yunnan Province.

New technology and new industries have promoted the economic and social development of Lufeng City by leaps and bounds and increased local taxes. In 2023, the city's tax revenue increased by 71.7% compared with the same period last year. From January to February 2024, the city's tax revenue increased by 6.0% compared with the same period last year.
