Lufeng City 100 million yuan titanium industry project approved

On April 7, the Yunnan Province Development and Reform Commission issued a review opinion on its official website, agreeing in principle to the energy conservation report of the comprehensive demonstration project of molten salt chlorination of Yunnan National Titanium Metal Co., Ltd.

The project plans to have a total investment of 192.5325 million yuan. After completion, an additional 100,128.15 tons of refined titanium tetrachloride production capacity will be added every year, which will further strengthen the raw material support for Yunnan National Titanium's production of sponge titanium, pigment titanium dioxide and titanium series products, and further consolidate the foundation for the construction of Lufeng City's "Green New Titanium Valley". In March 2023, the project was included in the "2023 Provincial Major Project List and" Top Priority "Project List of Yunnan Province." At present, the water and soil conservation plan for the project has been approved by the Lufeng Municipal Administrative Approval Bureau, and construction can start after passing environmental assessment, safety assessment, land use, etc. approvals.

Yunnan National Titanium Metal Co., Ltd. is located in Qinfeng District, Yunnan Lufeng Industrial Park. It was established in 2019 and uses sponge titanium as its main product. In 2023, the company's titanium sponge output will achieve continuous breakthroughs, producing a total of 33,000 tons of titanium sponge, ranking among the top of the world's titanium sponge production companies and was selected into the "China's New Unicorn List in the First Half of 2023" launched by Forbes China.
