Recently, the thick plate department of Anshan Iron and Steel Company's Bayuquan Steel Branch broke through the technical bottleneck and successfully rolled wide and heavy lightweight metal titanium and titanium alloy steel plates. The product quality and size accuracy meet the requirements of high quality standards in the downstream industry, achieving Angang Metal Titanium and Titanium Alloy Heavy Steel Plate Rolling Technology A landmark breakthrough in the technical bottleneck.

application background

Metallic titanium is known as the "strategic metal" and "marine metal" because of its excellent properties. Its alloys are widely used in aerospace, aerospace, nuclear industry and other fields. However, due to the unique metallic characteristics of titanium, the process is difficult in the rolling process, and problems such as deformation and cracks are prone to occur during steel plate production. To this end, the Science and Technology Development Department of Angang Group organized Anshan Base, Pangang Base and Bayuquan Base to establish project teams to jointly carry out rolling process technology research.

technological breakthroughs

Bayuquan Branch attaches great importance to this development task and cooperated with Pangang Group to conduct in-depth exploration and discussion on key rolling control parameters, rolling model control points and handling methods of rolling abnormalities. After multiple rounds of industrial trial production and process improvement, it was finally successfully rolled. Titanium and titanium alloy steel plates whose surface quality, thickness size accuracy, and shape all meet the standard requirements were produced. This technological breakthrough will lay a solid foundation for Angang to expand materials in the titanium industry.
