Recently, Shanxi Longxing Carbon-based New Materials Circular Economy Industry Project is keeping a close eye on the schedule, reversing the construction period according to the project construction plan, and making every effort to speed up, improve quality and improve efficiency of the project construction, so as to make the project fully complete and smooth. According to the Carbon Black Industry Network, since the start of the Shanxi Longxing Carbon-based New Materials Circular Economy Industry Project in April 2023, 70% of the main civil construction structure has been completed. Currently, workers are installing pipes and equipment. It is expected that stand-alone commissioning conditions will be available in April this year and will be officially put into production in May.

Yang Zhe, director of the comprehensive office of Shanxi Longxing New Materials Technology Development Co., Ltd., said that the project is located in the eastern district of Lucheng Economic and Technological Development Zone and focuses on the research and development, manufacturing and efficient use of new material technologies. The project plans to build 6 high-purity nano carbon black production lines with an annual production capacity of 400,000 tons, and support the construction of 2 sets of 35MW ultra-high temperature and ultra-high pressure high-efficiency steam power generation units. The entire project is divided into two phases, with an investment of 1.6 billion yuan in the first phase and an investment of 1.5 billion yuan in the second phase.

龙星化工股份有限公司副总经理乔习学指出，项目投产后将有力推动山西碳基新材料产业的发展。通过利用上游焦化产业的副产品作为主原料，生产炭黑及尾气，企业能够将炭黑尾气用于锅炉发电和外供蒸汽，实现能源的高效利用，从而打造循环产业经济。这不仅有助于增强企业的新产品开发能力和品牌创造能力，而且对于实现降碳目标、培育壮大战略性新兴产业、加快推动发展动力向创新驱动转变也具有重要意义。

Qiao Xixue also said that after the project is put into operation, the annual output value is expected to reach 3.5 billion yuan, the annual tax revenue is estimated to be 213 million yuan, and the total profits and taxes are expected to be 613 million yuan. In addition, the project will also provide more than 300 jobs and make due contributions to the high-quality development of Lucheng's economy.
