India's carbon black industry has strong momentum, with total production capacity approaching the 1.82 million tons mark

India's carbon black industry continues to expand, and the current total production capacity is close to 1.82 million tons, showing strong development momentum. Within the country, Philip Carbon Black (PCBL) firmly ranks as the leader, with 5 factories located in different states, which together constitute its huge production network.

Specifically, PCBL's Mundra plant in Gujarat has an annual output capacity of 225,000 tons, making it its highest production capacity single plant. The Durgapur plant in West Bengal and the Palej plant in Gujarat followed closely with annual production capacity of 163,000 tons and 142,000 tons respectively. In addition, the company has built a new factory in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, with an annual production capacity of 147,000 tons. The Kochi plant in Kerala also contributed 93,000 tons to PCBL's total production capacity.

In addition to PCBL, India has several other important carbon black producers. According to the Carbon Black Industry Network, Birla Carbon India has a production capacity of 315,000 tons, and Continental Carbon India has a production capacity of 235,000 tons. At the same time, BKT, Himadri Specialty Chemicals and Epsilon Carbon Pvt) also has production capacity of 200,000 tons, 180,000 tons and 115,000 tons respectively. Together, these companies form a solid cornerstone of India's carbon black industry.
