Recently, the comprehensive recycling project of sulfur, titanium and iron resources of Guocheng Mining Co., Ltd. was successfully commissioned, and the first bag of Guocheng titanium dioxide was born, marking the first time in the world to build a full-process production of 200,000 tons/year of rutile titanium dioxide at one time. The production device was put into operation.
The project is located in Urad Rear Banner (Qingkele) Industrial Park, Bayannur City, Inner Mongolia, covering a total area of 1,047.14 acres and a total investment of 2.983 billion yuan. The main construction equipment production capacity is: 1 million tons/year non-ferrous metal processing tailings mixed with ferrous iron to produce sulfuric acid, 200,000 tons/year titanium dioxide plant, and a by-product of 1 million tons/year high-quality iron powder plant. After the project fully reaches production capacity, it will achieve an annual output of 200,000 tons of rutile titanium dioxide, 700,000 tons of industrial sulfuric acid, 630,000 tons of secondary iron concentrate, and 640,000 tons of ferrous sulfate, ranking among the top five in the same industry in China. Consumption of 800,000 tons of self-produced and local sulfuric acid, and use nearly 1 million tons of local pyrites.
The project uses pyrite, a by-product of lead-zinc ore produced by Inner Mongolia Dongshengmiao Mining Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Guocheng Mining, as raw material to produce sulfuric acid and by-product secondary iron concentrate, and re-process the main product titanium dioxide and by-product ferrous sulfate., realizing the "dry eating and squeezing" of mining resources.
By extending the industrial chain, using local materials and maximizing value for money, the project realizes the on-site transformation of pyrite resources, transforms local resource advantages into economic advantages, and has good social and economic benefits.
