Birla Carbon announced the successful completion of the acquisition of multi-walled carbon nanotube company Nanocyl SA, officially entering the carbon nanotube field. This strategic move not only expands the influence of Bora Carbon Black in the energy systems market, but also consolidates its leadership position in the areas of lithium-ion battery performance and other key materials for conductive applications.

Santrupt, Director of Bora Group and Director of Chemicals and Human Resources, Adiya Bora Group Dr. Misra said: "Bora Carbon Black has been cultivating innovation opportunities as it actively promotes a multi-faceted sustainable development agenda, and this acquisition of Nanocyl is undoubtedly an important step towards achieving this strategic goal. We expect this cooperation to make Bora Carbon Black an important player in the emerging energy systems field." He further pointed out: "The Adibora Group has always been committed to investing in innovation-driven sustainable and circular projects to meet future challenges, which is also consistent with our core values: building dynamic and responsible businesses and establishing 'inspiring' trust and improving people's lives."

John, President and CEO of Bora Carbon Black Loudermilk shared his views on the merger, saying: "We are very happy to welcome Nanocyl to the Bora carbon black family. Laurent and his team have been pioneers in the field of carbon nanotubes, providing unique performance characteristics for a variety of applications, particularly in energy systems such as lithium-ion batteries. Bora Carbon Black has been committed to driving growth through sustainable development and innovation, consistent with the huge environmental benefits and climate change resistance potential of multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) in electrified transportation. We will continue to work with our growing customer family to create unprecedented value by expanding our carbon product and technology portfolio."

Laurent, CEO of Nanocyl Kosbach said: "With the support of existing partners and investors, as a start-up, we are very proud to have successfully developed and commercialized multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) over the past 20 years. But as demand for our products continues to grow, it is time to join global industry leaders to maximize the synergy and potential of these materials in multiple end applications." Mr. Kosbach added: "Bora Carbon Black's R & D expertise, product portfolio and market experience will help Nanocyl and its products realize their full growth potential."

Conductex™ series of conductive carbon black additives and active anode materials, coupled with Nanocyl's advanced multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs), provide excellent conductive application solutions for Bora carbon black. This acquisition is expected to inject new vitality into the technological development of carbon nanotubes and the advancement of sustainable energy systems.
