On December 4, the thermal load trial production of the titanium plate electric heating furnace in the 1780 production line of Baosteel Desheng Hot Rolling Plant was successful. The commissioning of the titanium plate electric heating furnace will add impetus to the company's green transformation and efficient development.

The annual rolling processing demand for titanium plates in the hot rolling plant is about 4000 tons. Previously, one heating furnace in the 1780 production line was used to heat titanium plates. During the titanium plate heating production process, there is a large gap between titanium plate process technology and conventional steel grades (The furnace temperature when heating conventional steel is 1100℃~1250℃, while the furnace temperature when heating titanium plate is 880℃). Therefore, every time titanium plate is rolled, it is necessary to empty the raw billet in the heating furnace, and then cool the heating furnace. After loading steel to complete titanium plate production, the temperature is increased and then loaded with regular billet to resume normal production.

The titanium plate electric heating furnace project of the 1780 production line of the hot rolling plant began construction on September 25, 2023. After going through early civil engineering pouring, equipment installation and debugging, simulated steel rolling and other links, it was held on December 4 this year at 15:42 At 42 points, the titanium plate electric heating furnace was successfully produced under the heat load, and the first titanium plate was rolled at 15:48.

After the titanium plate electric heating furnace is put into use, it will directly change the fact that the heating furnace is vacant when heating titanium plates. The heating and cooling process and the heating process will cause a large amount of energy waste, and reduce the impact of steel grade switching in the furnace on the output of conventional steel grades in the hot rolling plant.
