Continental Horse Corporation recently announced a major sustainability initiative, saying it has started using recycled carbon black (rCB) in solid tires produced in Germany. This move reflects the company's commitment to promoting environmental protection and the use of renewable resources.
It is reported that the "Super Elastic" solid tires produced by the Continental Horse Korbach factory now incorporate recycled carbon black provided by "Perum Innovation", which makes this tire's renewable and recycled material content. It has reached an astonishing 60%.
Recovered carbon black is currently only used in the Super Elastic series, but Continental Horse emphasized that the company is making continuous efforts and plans to gradually increase the proportion of renewable and recycled materials in all its product lines to achieve more sustainable production.
This transformation benefits from the close cooperation between mainland horse brand and Pairum Innovation. Earlier this year, the two companies signed a long-term contract to expand the supply of recycled carbon black, demonstrating their joint commitment to more environmentally friendly and sustainable tire production.
In the field of solid tires, this innovative application will bring users more environmentally friendly, resource-saving and efficient operating processes. Especially for industrial vehicles such as forklifts, airport vehicles and heavy transport vehicles, Super Elastic solid tires not only feature high load bearing capacity, extremely stable, puncture resistance and maintenance-free, but also use "advanced rubber compound" with low rolling resistance, longer service life and relatively higher proportion of sustainable materials.
As an important tire filler, industrial carbon black plays a key role in improving the stability, strength and durability of tires. In the future, mainland horse brand plans to expand recycled carbon black to other rubber materials to further improve sustainability.
Continental Horse's sustainability efforts not only help reduce the energy consumption of electric forklifts and improve cruising range, but also set a good example throughout the industry. Matthias Stephen Muller, product manager of material handling tires in the company's specialty tires business unit, said: "Our customers are eager to operate more environmentally friendly, resource-efficient and efficient solutions. In the field of specialty tires, sustainability is becoming increasingly important, and our super-elastic solid tires are a positive response to this development trend."
