"Titanium" is awesome! "Panzhihua Brand" Titanium Concentrate Went Abroad for the First Time

Recently, with the sound of "woo-woo" flutes, the giant ship of PTK10A titanium concentrate produced by the company slowly landed from Fangcheng Port of China to Busan Port of South Korea. This is the first export of titanium concentrate produced in Panxi region of China, marking the first time that titanium concentrate of Panzhihua Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. has entered the international high-end titanium industry chain market and achieved a major breakthrough out of the country.

Over the years, based on the comprehensive utilization and development of Panxi resources, the company has overcome the world problem of fine ilmenite separation according to the characteristics of Panxi vanadium titanomagnetite. Independent research and development of micro-fine ilmenite recovery technology, titanium tailings in the deep recovery technology, the formation of new processes, new agents, new equipment integrated high-efficiency titanium separation technology and equipment, generations of scientists and technicians continue to struggle. With aggressiveness, fortitude and tenacity, inherit and carry forward the mining cultural concept of "collecting Tianhou treasures and grinding mining elites", so as to make the development of titanium resources in Panzhihua Iron and Steel Co., Ltd., from scratch, from small to large, from excellent to strong.

From the end of 1970s to 2023, the annual production capacity of titanium concentrate was 1.7 million tons, the comprehensive utilization rate of titanium resources increased from less than 10% to more than 53%, and the output of titanium concentrate increased year by year, making unremitting efforts for the development of national strategic resources in Panzhihua. In 2013, we took the lead in implementing the deep recovery and utilization project of full tailings, which recycled the titanium tailings lost in the past, forming an efficient recovery and utilization technology of titanium tailings, and the titanium recovery rate was increased from 32% to 45%. It has led the development of deep recovery and utilization technology of Panxi titanium resources. In 2017, we independently developed the titanium separation process of low-grade peridotite ilmenite and took the lead in industrial application in Baima mining area, so that the low-grade tailings with 3.7% titanium grade were used economically. It has created a precedent for the recovery and utilization of low-grade titanium resources in vanadium-titanium magnetite in China, and the actual output of titanium concentrate exceeded 1 million tons in 2018. Through strengthening technology to tackle key problems, the implementation of large-scale transformation of titanium separation high-intensity magnetic machine, the use of new agents, flotation automatic control, etc., in 2022, the production scale of titanium concentrate exceeded 1.5 million tons. In 2023, the world-class problem of recovery of ultra-fine ilmenite was successfully overcome, and the production line of ultra-fine ilmenite was built, and the production scale of ilmenite concentrate reached 1.7 million tons. The recovery rate of titanium concentrate is increasing year by year, and the output of titanium concentrate continues to be the first in the country and the third in the world. While the output of titanium concentrate continues to rise, "Panzhihua" titanium concentrate has passed the certification of ISO9001 quality and ISO14001 environmental management system, and has been maintained so far. In 2015, Panzhihua Iron and Steel Company drafted and formulated the national product standard of titanium concentrate (rock ore). The recovery rate and grade of titanium concentrate are in the leading level in China. The titanium concentrate of Panzhihua Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. is well received by users because of its high titanium content, stable grade, low sulfur, low phosphorus, low harmful heavy metal content and high acidolysis rate, especially the titanium concentrate with an average sulfur content of 0.13% and a minimum sulfur content of 0.09%. Far lower than the industry standard of 0.20%, it has been awarded as "Sichuan famous Brand products" for 12 consecutive years, and it is the only provincial famous brand product in China that has been rated as ferrous metal mineral products. The smooth export this time is the gratifying result of the company's continuous improvement of product quality, strict compliance with international standards and in-depth understanding of the needs of international users, indicating that the titanium concentrate of Panzhihua Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. has gone abroad to the world. Standing on the new historical coordinates, Panzhihua brand titanium concentrate ushered in new development opportunities and broader prospects in the future. Recently, Guo Yong, deputy secretary of the party committee, vice chairman and general manager of Sichuan Development (Holdings) Company, held an exchange and discussion with Wang Yajun, deputy secretary of the Chengde Municipal CPC Committee and mayor of Hebei Province, and his party at the Sichuan Development headquarters. The two sides conducted in-depth exchanges on further strengthening contacts and deepening cooperation.
